PRECISION MACHINING TECHNOLOGY:
The Precision Machine Technology program trains students in the operation and maintenance of tools and machines such as lathes, grinders, milling machines, drill presses, shapers, etc. The students are trained in hand operations such as filing, hand tapping and dowel fitting. The student is taught to shape metal parts to precise dimensions, follow prints and specifications, select metal stock, lay out work, use precision instruments, and apply basic metallurgy.

** Students must complete 2-year course in Precision Machining Technology, meet grade requirements, and be accepted at North Central State College within two years of graduation. Students enroll in either Mechanical Engineering Technology or Industrial Technology (Engineering Design or Tool & Die option).
