The Child Development program provides opportunities for students to learn the skills necessary to work with children as they grow and develop. The program prepares students to work with children from birth through age 12 in child care centers, Head Start programs, and elementary schools. Managerial and operational skills are included in the course. Students may use the program as preparation for college in elementary education, special education, and child development professions. Students will develop a portfolio and be ready for the Child Development Associate credential evaluation process upon successful completion of the two-year program. Child Development students are members of Family Career Consumer Leaders of America.
